  • 新疆的大规模监控和集中营,谁都装不下去;
  • 香港的自由被硬生生掐灭,港人一个个被判刑;
  • 网络上说个真话都可能“寻衅滋事”,一句话换几年牢饭;

Li Qiang at the UN: A Global Comedy of Errors

Recently, Chinese Premier Li Qiang appeared at the United Nations General Assembly. Instead of applause, he was greeted with protests. The banners outside spoke louder than his scripted lines inside, and the chants from demonstrators were far more authentic than his “official tone.” In short, it was yet another embarrassing episode for the CCP on the global stage.

On stage, Li Qiang read from his script about how “China promotes world peace” and “respects human rights.” Even he probably didn’t believe a word of it. Anyone who looks at China today knows better:

  • Mass surveillance and camps in Xinjiang;
  • The strangling of freedom in Hong Kong, with activists locked away;
  • Ordinary citizens jailed for “picking quarrels” just for telling the truth online;
  • Young people mysteriously “falling to their deaths” while in custody, with every case brushed off as an “accident.”

And yet, this regime goes to the UN to talk about “human rights” and “peace”? That’s like a fox preaching vegetarianism—or a thief giving a lecture on morality. Pure farce.

The protesters outside represented the real voices of China. Their banners and chants condensed decades of CCP repression into a language the world could instantly understand. Li Qiang, of course, didn’t dare meet their eyes. What the CCP fears most is not the protest itself—it’s the truth those protests expose.

Every time a CCP official goes abroad, it’s the same tired play: armies of security, efforts to muffle the protests, media scrambling to censor negative coverage. Outwardly they parade as leaders of the “world’s second-largest economy.” In reality, they scurry like rats terrified of daylight.

The UN is supposed to be a platform for nations to showcase their confidence and values. But Li Qiang delivered nothing but lifeless clichés—so dull that even foreign audiences struggled to stay awake. Meanwhile, the roar of protesters outside told the world what China really looks like: not the polished lines of the stage, but the cries of 1.4 billion people trapped under an iron curtain.

Here’s the irony: the CCP constantly shames its citizens with talk of “national dignity” to silence dissent, warning them not to “embarrass China.” Yet it is the CCP itself that repeatedly disgraces China on the world stage, exposing its hypocrisy, cruelty, and absurdity. That’s the real embarrassment.

Li Qiang’s trip to the UN was billed as “diplomacy.” In reality, it was an international fiasco. Because no matter how loud he reads his script, the protests outside will always be louder—and far more truthful. Real dignity doesn’t come from censorship or propaganda. It comes from freedom, justice, and human dignity. Without these, the CCP will always be a global joke.
